Child Development: The Science and Practice of Catching Problems Early (Web Conference)

The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) Screening Academy
The NASHP Screening Academy is a selection of 19 states who are implementing policies and practices to standardize developmental screening within the Medicaid program. The jurisdictions selected for the Screening Academy are: AK, AL, AR, CA, CT, DE, DC, KA, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, NJ, OH, OR, Puerto Rico, VI, and WI. Each of these states is working with at least two practices to implement the AAP algorithm.

Piloting the AAP Algorithm: Lessons Learned Webcast
This Webcast, co-sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics and hosted by the NASHP Screening Academy, offers an in-depth examination of the AAP algorithm by Paul Lipkin, MD, FAAP—particularly as it relates to implementing the algorithm in a practice. It also features the experience of Amy Gibson, MS, RN, from Boys Town Pediatrics (NE) and Thomas Sullivan, MD, FAAP of Alexandria-Lake Ridge Pediatrics (VA) both of whom participated in the Developmental Surveillance and Screening Policy Implementation Project (D-PIP) that piloted the algorithm. Tracy King, MD, MPH, FAAP, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine also presents preliminary qualitative outcomes of the D-PIP.
