Pediatric Subspecialty Innovation Exchange
The Federal Expert Work Group on Pediatric Subspecialty Capacity is seeking real-world examples for improving access to pediatric subspecialty care and for strengthening effective relationships between primary and specialty pediatric care providers and families. Examples of innovations include:
- Interactive educational programs between pediatric subspecialists and primary care physicians
- Financial incentives or special payment arrangements for communication, consultation, and shared management
- System-level changes that accommodate pediatric subspecialty referral, triage, and care management within and across states
- Clinical practice improvements that facilitate shared decision making with families in primary and specialty pediatric practices
To submit your innovation to the Federal Expert Work Group on Pediatric Subspecialty Capacity and others, please complete the information below and submit to slimb@mchpolicy.org. You will receive a confirmation after your submission has been received and we will automatically add you to our mailing list. All submissions will be reviewed by the Expert Work Group prior to posting the innovation on our web site.

The Maternal and Child Health Policy Research Center provides provides staff support to the Federal Expert Work Group on Pediatric Subspecialty Capacity and conducts research and planning activities on pediatric subspecialty workforce issues, including identifying promising practices to strengthen the interface between primary and specialty pediatric care.
