Current programs include: SPIN PTI (SPIN Parent Training & Information Project)uses a “Families Training Families” model of training, information and support to families of children with all types of disabilities on the issues of laws, rights, listening and communication skills, and understanding their child’s disabilities.
P.A.S.S. (Parents Accessing Systems of Support),is a program serving Jefferson County which focuses on young people from the ages of 14-21, who are non-diploma bound students with severe disabilities in low incident special education classes. P.A.S.S. will give families a knowledge base that allows not only entry into programs and services, but options that give young people with disabilities a voice in their own destiny. Through advanced planning and education, families can transition from school to adult services without interruption in services.
